FAQ

Do I need a wallet to play?

No. You can play as a Guest right away (choose any level from 1 to 100; nothing is saved, and no trading or stalls). An account uses your Solana wallet's public address and a password, and the wallet must hold at least $1 of $GRIM when you create it. The game never asks for your secret phrase or private key.

How many characters can I have?

Up to 5 per account. They share the account depot (100 slots). Only one can be in the world at a time.

What is the highest level?

120 (307,900,485 XP in total). Level 75 opens the Inverted City, through the mirror portal of the Portal Hall.

Where do I hunt?

In the caves. Start with the Spider Cave, under the Training Grounds. Caves give +25% loot and +25% gold, and hunting outside the dungeons gives +25% XP. See World & caves.

I cannot go west, east or north.

A magic barrier keeps you out until you reach the level: 15 for the west and the east, 30 for the north, 40 for the Dragon Hills.

Where is my loot?

In a bag on the creature, for 2 minutes, and only you can see it. Click it or press V. You can turn on Auto-loot in Settings (O).

Do I lose items when I die?

Sometimes. Dying outside a dungeon or boss lair costs 8% of the XP of your current level (you never lose a level), part of the gold you carry (10% near town, up to 20% in the hardest regions) and maybe some items from your backpack (a small chance near town, a much bigger one far away). What you drop stays in a bag where you fell: only you can open it for 5 minutes, then anyone can. Equipped, epic and legendary items and your bank are always safe. Dying inside a dungeon or a boss lair costs only XP (in a dungeon, not even the entry). Father Aldric, at the temple, sells a blessing that protects your next death (it costs level × level × 30 gold). Fort Ravenmoor is different: there you drop everything you carry, backpack, equipped items (epic and legendary too) and all your gold, anyone can take the bag at once, and the blessing does not help. Only your wings, the bank, the depot and your tools stay safe.

Where does gear come from?

It is crafted. There are three sets: Iron (Borin, main island), Frost (Ice Island) and Abyssal (Nirob, Inverted City). You choose the rarity when you craft: Common takes ore, logs, hide, fiber and creature parts; Rare takes better materials and a gem from the cave veins; Legendary the best materials, gems, a dungeon core and a boss essence. No level is needed to wear anything. Borin also sells Common and Rare pieces ready, for a lot of gold or for GRIM (all burned). The only gear that drops are the 10 Mythic pieces: every boss and dungeon lord may drop one, from 1 in 20,000 to 1 in 2,000 per kill, and they never break. See crafting.

Does gear break?

Yes, except Mythic pieces. Common pieces wear out fastest and Legendary the slowest; every piece also loses a little when you die. At 0 durability it stays broken (it gives nothing) until Borin restores it for gold and materials; each restore lowers its maximum durability a little, so even the best piece is replaced one day. Old pieces can be salvaged for part of their materials.

What happened to my beta gear?

This Vellgrim starts over: the old gear left the game and came back to its owner as gold.

How many times can I enter a dungeon?

3 times a day in each one. Dying inside does not spend the entry.

What does the forge do?

Ulfgar rerolls the bonuses of a Rare or Legendary piece for gold and a gem. It never fails and never breaks anything, but you get whatever the fire gives.

Why is my party not sharing XP?

XP is shared with members within 20 tiles, and only if the lowest level is at least 2/3 of the highest.

Can I sell items while I am offline?

Yes: open a stall in the Market Square. It keeps selling for up to 24 hours, and the gold goes to your bank (minus 3%). See Token & stalls.

Does the game take a cut of token payments?

Nothing. 1% of every GRIM sale between players is burned in the same transaction, and the other 99% goes straight from the buyer's wallet to the seller's (plus the Solana network fee, in SOL). GRIM paid to NPCs is 100% burned.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. Drag the stick in the bottom-left corner to walk, tap a creature to target it, tap an NPC to talk. The big button on the right attacks and the spells sit in an arc around it, with the potions beside them.

How do I change my keys or the sound?

Settings (O): hotkeys, sound effects volume, auto-loot and more. Your hotkeys and settings are saved with your account.
